International Lake Memphremagog is the drinking water reservoir for 185,000 Quebec neighbors. The health and safety of people, fish and wildlife literally depend on its clean waters for survival.
Lake Memphremagog is also the crown jewel of the Northeast Kingdom, and the foundation of our regional economy, famous for its natural beauty and a favorite destination for boating, fishing and swimming. The fate of our economy is tied to the health and safety of the Lake water.
Showing respect and concern for Lake Memphremagog shows respect and concern from all who drink or benefit from her. Preventing future contamination of Lake Memphremagog from any source, including leachate, is a responsibility Vermont must commit to. H.652 is a simple step toward that goal.
Looking forward to seeing you!
